Everyone has an opinion about love at first sight, but for newlyweds Jennifer and Eric, it’s very, very real!
“We met on a blind date,” Jennifer recalled. “It ‘sparked’ as soon as we hooked eyes!”
The two made an instant connection, and continued surprising each other ever since. Even the proposal took Jennifer totally off-guard!
“He rented a cabin in the mountains, our favorite place to get away,” Jennifer said. “He took me to the outlets and I kept dragging him to all the jewelry shops.”
After trying on rings and sending multiple hints, Jennifer eventually gave up because Eric kept walking away.
She didn’t have to wait long: after watching the TV one night, Eric sat down on the couch next to Jennifer, got down on one knee and popped the question.
“I was speechless!” she gushed. “He laughed and said ‘I told you I would get you when you least expected it!”
Needless to say, she said yes!
Because Jennifer and Eric both love the Great Smokey Mountains — it’s what brought Eric to Tennessee (and to Jennifer!) — they knew that the mountains were the perfect location for their big day.
Finding a wedding dress Jennifer loved proved to be a challenge.
“After trying on what felt like hundreds of traditional gowns, I just felt fat!” Jennifer exclaimed, “Like the bride of the Pillsbury dough boy!”
Finally, Jennifer spotted a gown hanging in the Gilded Gown’s prom section. It was a light cream with black netting and embroidery. It was love at first sight.
“I was worried that it may scare Eric away because I chose one with a black overlay, but it made me feel beautiful!”
“Sweet and simple”
