Pascale and Jean-Marc’s story was a long time in the making!
The couple originally met as teenagers in 1998 at a sporting event. Despite feeling the initial butterflies, nothing happened. Ten years later, the two got in touch over social media. Their meet-cute? Running into each other on their way to work!
From there, things progressed rapidly. They married a year later and moved to Australia. After their daughter Emily was born, they decided to have a religious wedding ceremony on the island of Mauritius, off the coast of Madagascar.
Pascale knew her dress had to be special from the get-go: after all, it had to be “the most beautiful dress [she’ ever wear!” After not finding her dream gown in Melbourne, she chose to go the custom route. She stumbled upon Leah Da Gloria’s designs and booked an appointment with her in Sydney.
It was a match made in heaven. After several meetings (and many flights to Sydney) the perfect dress finally came together, encapsulating the “modern and magical” aesthetic of the designer.
Pascale’s dream wedding had to be glamorous and she knew she wanted lace and peonies. Unfortunately, peonies aren’t available on the island of Mauritius.
Thankfully, wedding cake and reception venue designer Lexia worked extra hard to get the flowers to the couple just in time for the big day! She imported the peonies from Holland!
As for the color palette? A very classy blush, ivory and gold.
Pascale’s favorite moment of the entire wedding? The first dance!
“We both took dancing lessons for about 3 months and had someone choreograph our first dance,” Pascale quipped. “It was the tango dance version of Sway, by Michael Buble.”
